English courses for teens in small groups — online and in Trnava

Two to four teenagers, one teacher and a lesson where people actually talk. Their peers are at the same point, so the first sentence out loud is not as scary as in front of a whole class.

ages 13–18 2–4 students in a group online via Google Meet or in Trnava, A. Kubinu 8

We put groups together by age, level and time — that is why the application is not an order and you pay only once the group is together. You don’t need to know the level in advance: we find it out in the demo lesson, or you can see it right away with a short online test, free of charge.

Who this course is for

Group lessons for students from 13 to 18, two to four in a group. Most of them come to us with one of these four things.

Understands everything, says nothing

Watches series without subtitles, but stays quiet in class — the sentence has to be correct first and only then out loud. In the group there are peers hunting for words just as slowly, so there is nobody to look silly in front of.

There is little speaking at school

They know the grammar and the words, they just have nowhere to use them: in a school class that works out at a couple of sentences per person per lesson. Our lesson is built around conversation — most of the time the students are talking, not the teacher.

Getting ready for the school-leaving exam or entrance exams

The school-leaving exam, entrance exams, a certificate or an exchange. When the date and the goal are clear, we build the lesson around them and go by what is actually coming, not by the order of chapters in the textbook.

Looking for a better price

A month in a small group costs roughly half of one-to-one lessons. The teenager gets a teacher and peers to argue with in English about which series is better.

How teenagers learn English with us

Three things we do differently from school.

Two students talking — a small group in an English lesson

A group, not a class

Two to four, not twenty

In a group like that there is no back row to hide in — everyone gets to speak several times a lesson. We put students together by age and level, so nobody waits and nobody has to catch up.

A robot and a student in conversation — Quest AI, practice between lessons

Practice between lessons

Quest AI, our own app

Between lessons the teenager practises in Quest AI. There is grammar by topic, dialogues from everyday situations and free conversation with our bots, who will sit through the same sentence a hundred times. Access is included in the course price and available even at midnight.

A camera, a photo and likes — the challenge of the month and skits outside the lesson

Role-play and challenges

Debate, role-play and the challenge of the month

One orders the coffee, the other serves, then they swap roles. Plus a shared challenge once a month — record a video, make a meme, get through a mini contest. The sentence is said out loud and to a peer, not for a grade.

Teenagers in an English lesson — English opens the door to the internet

English opens the door to the internet they are on anyway

  • Series, videos and tutorials in the original — no waiting for a dub and no subtitles half a sentence behind.
  • In games and on Discord they manage on their own. That tends to be the moment English stops being a school subject.

How a lesson goes

We agree the time, the length and the format once the group is together — and then we stick to them.

  • When

Late afternoon, most often between 15:00 and 19:00 — after school, after training, however the week works out. We fine-tune the exact day and hour with everyone at once, when the group is together.

  • Where

Online via Google Meet from home, or in person in Trnava at Andreja Kubinu 8. You choose the format in the application — online and Trnava are always separate groups.

  • How many students

Two to four. We put them together by age and level, with no more than two years between them. We start with a pair, so there is no waiting for a full group.

  • How long and how often

A lesson lasts 55 minutes — not 60, so the teacher can catch her breath and pour a glass of water between lessons. Once or twice a week, which is 4 or 8 lessons a month.

  • Feedback for you

We tell you regularly how it is going and what is being covered — without dissecting every mistake. And at home we would rather recommend ten minutes in Quest AI than an hour and a half of homework.

Who teaches the lessons

One teacher, the same one every lesson. Nobody has to start getting to know someone new each time.

Mgr. Júlia Ratynska, teacher at Quest language school

Mgr. Júlia Ratynska

English · Slovak · Ukrainian · Russian · Spanish

If a teenager does not understand something in English, Júlia explains it in their own language. She talks to them the way she would to adults — about music, about school and about whatever is annoying them — and builds the lesson around that, because that is what they have something to say about in English too. When something is not working, she makes no drama of it: she asks where exactly it got tangled.

Quest AI — English between lessons as well

The group meets once or twice a week. Talking can happen every day.

The teenager turns on the microphone and says a sentence. Julka answers out loud, corrects them and is in no hurry. And a slip in front of Englík costs nothing — he is a guinea pig whose English is in exactly the same shape.

  • Speaking out loud — they talk into the microphone and hear the answer right away
  • A personal dictionary — a new word is saved with one tap and is still there a week later
  • Role-play challenges — ordering in a café, a conversation at the airport, an interview for a summer job
  • You install the app on your phone, and the login lasts three months

Access is included in the course price, with no extra fees.

Group course application

Our groups are small — 2 to 4 students. To place your child with children of similar age and level, we need a few details. You pay only once the group is formed and you confirm the schedule.

How to start

Three steps. The first two are free and commit you to nothing.

1

Free demo lesson

One lesson online, no payment and no card. The teacher sees where the teenager stands, and they see whether it fits. If it doesn’t, we part on good terms.

2

You fill in the application

The age, the level and the times the teenager can make. Feel free to tick more days and hours than you plan to attend: the more there are, the sooner we find students who fit the same slot.

3

We get in touch when the group is together

We write the day, the hour and the date of the first lesson and send the payment link. We write by e-mail or WhatsApp — with most parents it is WhatsApp, which tends to be quicker.

A great English school for kids and teenagers. The teachers are very kind and patient and create a friendly atmosphere. Lessons are clear and playful, and children learn naturally, without stress. I appreciate the individual approach and the small groups.

Frequently asked questions

Six things people ask about most often.

In a group the lesson runs on without them, and it counts: the others came. We only move the lessons we cancel ourselves: public holidays, school breaks, the teacher being ill.

We send what was missed and catch up on it briefly in the next lesson, so they stay in step with the group.

A computer, tablet or phone with internet and a place where nobody disturbs them. Headphones help more than a camera. You don’t have to install or buy anything for the lesson — Google Meet opens in the browser.

We take applications all year round and start with just two students, so there is no waiting for a full group. How quickly a group comes together depends mostly on time: the more slots you tick in the application, the sooner we find students who fit the same one.

If no group comes together within two weeks, we get in touch ourselves and offer another time or one-to-one lessons. We won’t leave you waiting in silence.

Only once the group is complete and the time confirmed do we send the payment link. The course is paid monthly in advance: by transfer via QR code or through the GoPay gateway — card, bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Prices are final, we are not VAT payers. You commit to one month at a time — if you decide not to continue, you simply don’t pay for the next one. The details are in the Refund Policy.

Our own app, access to it is included in the course price. Inside there is grammar by topic, dialogues from everyday situations and free conversation with our bots, who don’t mind hearing the same sentence for the tenth time.

It is an addition to the lesson with the teacher, not a replacement. There is nothing extra to pay for it.

In a group the teenager learns to speak with peers, and a month works out cheaper. If they need their own pace, a specific goal, or feel shy in front of others, it is worth looking at individual lessons for teens.

The first step is yours, we take care of the rest

You can ease in with one free lesson, or go straight to the application. Both ways lead to the same thing — a teenager who says what they think in English and doesn’t stop to check whether it was grammatically perfect.
