One-to-one tutoring
English tutoring for children and students — online and in Trnava
The lesson revolves around what you have at school right now: the textbook, the exercise book, Friday’s test. We go back to the place where it stopped making sense and carry on from there.
You don’t need to know the level in advance — we find it out in the demo lesson. If you want to know it right away, we have a short online test, free. The test can be hard for younger children. We recommend trying it from about the age of 10–12.
Who this tutoring is for
Tutoring for pupils and students from 6 to 24. Most of them come to us with one of these four things.
The grade is going down
At school the material runs ahead, and at home English has become the number one evening topic. In a one-to-one lesson you can go back exactly to the place where it got tangled — without the whole class watching.
Knows the rule, can’t use it
They can recite the tenses and the prepositions, but in a real sentence they hesitate. We go through them using examples from their own textbook and repeat until the sentence comes out without thinking about the rule.
A test, entrance exams, the final exam
When the date is known, the plan is simple: we practise whatever is on the test, and the rest can wait. We try oral answers out loud — so it isn’t the first time in front of the class.
Missed the material
Illness, a change of school or a move from another country. We catch up the missed months lesson by lesson, not all of them at once in a single week.
If you are looking for something else
- Not about school, but English for life — a child aged 6–12? Individual English for kids
- The same for a teenager aged 13–18? Individual English for teenagers
- Looking for tutoring for yourself, with school behind you? Individual English for adults
How tutoring differs from a lesson at school
Three things we do differently.
School material
We learn from your textbook
We go through exactly what they are doing at school right now — the same unit, the same words, the same piece of grammar. If there is a test on Friday, we start with it and the rest waits for next week.
Practice between lessons
Quest AI between lessons
Between lessons you can practise in Quest AI, our own app. There is grammar by topic, dialogues from everyday situations and free conversation with our bots, who will sit through a hundred repetitions of the same sentence. Access is included in the course price; we don’t give this part to children under eight.
Oral answers
So that they can say it, too
You can put the right word into a gap-fill exercise even when you can’t say the whole sentence. That is why we speak out loud in the lesson — an oral answer, a short presentation, a dialogue. The first time with us, not in front of the whole class.
English stops being a subject you have to survive
- When the material stops running ahead, there is time left for films, games and videos in the original — without waiting for the dubbing.
- And English becomes something you can use tonight — not in two years at the final exam.
How a lesson goes
No surprises: we agree on the time, the length and the format in advance and stick to them.
-
When
Morning, afternoon or evening — depending on the timetable, the clubs and when the student still has the energy. We choose the time together with you.
-
Where
Online via Google Meet from home, or in person in Trnava at Andreja Kubinu 8. You choose the format when ordering. If WhatsApp, Messenger or Telegram works better for you at home, we will meet you there too — you don’t have to install anything for us.
-
How long
45 minutes for the youngest schoolchildren, for as long as concentration lasts. 55 minutes for older ones — not 60, so that the teacher can catch her breath and pour a glass of water between lessons.
-
How often
From once to three times a week. Before tests or exams you can add a lesson for a month and then go back — with two or more lessons a week the month also works out cheaper.
-
Feedback for you
Parents hear regularly how it is going and what works at home. Older students hear it directly. There is homework, but it is short — not an hour and a half of it.
Who teaches the lessons
One teacher, the same one at every lesson. You don’t have to explain from scratch each time where you left off.
Mgr. Júlia Ratynska
English · Slovak · Ukrainian · Russian · Spanish
If the student doesn’t understand something in English, Júlia explains it in their own language. She does look at the exercise book, but not as a list of mistakes — she looks for the place where the material ran ahead. And along the way she asks what the student is into: series, football, games. She then builds the examples around that.
Quest AI — practice between lessons, too
Tutoring is once a week. Practising can happen every day.
The student turns on the microphone and says a sentence. Julka answers out loud, corrects it and is in no hurry. And a slip in front of Englík costs nothing — he is a guinea pig whose English is in exactly the same shape.
- Speaking out loud — the student talks into the microphone and hears the answer right away
- A personal dictionary — words for the test saved with one tap
- Role-play challenges — ordering in a restaurant, a visit to the doctor, a conversation at the bank
- You install the app on your phone, and the login lasts three months
Access is included in the tutoring price. We don’t give this part to children under eight — at that age the teacher is enough.

Choose the number of lessons a week, the lesson length and the month you want to start with. The price is recalculated right away, and “Order” takes you straight to payment.
How to start
Three steps. The first one is free and commits you to nothing.
Free demo lesson
One lesson online, no payment and no card. Bring the exercise book and the textbook — the teacher will see straight away where the material ran ahead and what is worth catching up on first.
We agree on the goal and the pace
A test in two weeks is a different task from a whole school year. We talk it through accordingly: how many times a week to study and what to start with. We then pick a package in the price list to match.
The order and the first lesson
You choose a package and a month and pay by transfer via QR code or by card. We confirm the times by e-mail — or over WhatsApp: that is where we message most families, and it tends to be faster.
What parents say
Thank you for tutoring Ninka all year long. She told me she wants to continue in September. I’m so glad she enjoys English with you — before that, she couldn’t even look at it. 🙏🤗

I never got the chance to thank you for your kind approach, patience and dedication with our kids — thank you once again. You are a truly lovely person. 🥰
A great English school for kids and teenagers. The teachers are very kind and patient and create a friendly atmosphere. Lessons are clear and playful, and children learn naturally, without stress. I appreciate the individual approach and the small groups.

Frequently asked questions
Seven things people ask about most often.
Yes, that is the whole point of tutoring. Bring the textbook and the exercise book to the lesson — the teacher will see from them what the class is doing now and where the gap appeared. When there is a test on Friday, we start with it; when it is a longer-term gap, we go back lesson by lesson until it sticks.
Write to the teacher at least 24 hours in advance and we move the lesson with no fee. Tests, training sessions and the flu can’t be planned — we count on that.
A computer, tablet or phone with internet and a place where nobody disturbs them. Headphones help more than a camera. You don’t have to install or buy anything for the lesson — Google Meet opens in the browser.
The easiest way is in the demo lesson — the teacher recognises it from the conversation within a couple of minutes. If you want to know before that, we have a short online test, free: our AI agent marks it, explains the mistakes and suggests where to start.
Any time. We take new students all year round — there is no waiting for September or for the first of the month. When ordering you choose the month you want to start with, and starting in March two weeks before a test works just as well.
The course is paid monthly in advance. After the order you get a QR code for a transfer, or you can pay through the GoPay gateway — by card, bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Prices are final, we are not VAT payers. Unused lessons move to the next month — and if you decide to stop, we return the money for the lessons you haven’t taken, any time. The details are in our Refund Policy.
Our own app, and access to it is included in the course price. There is grammar by topic, dialogues from everyday situations — in a shop, at the doctor’s, at the airport — and free conversation with our bots, who will hear the same sentence a tenth time without blinking.
It is an addition to the lesson with the teacher, not a replacement. We don’t give this part to children under eight.
The first step is yours, we take care of the rest
You can ease in with one free lesson, or go straight to choosing a package and a month. Both ways lead to the same thing — English that stops being the evening topic at home.
Demo lesson
No payment, no card and no commitment to continue. After the lesson the teacher tells you where the material ran ahead and what to catch up on first — even if you end up deciding this is not for you.
