One-to-one lessons
Individual English for adults — online and in Trnava
A lesson built around what you actually need English for — a meeting with colleagues, an airport, e-mails, or simply a conversation you don’t want to get lost in. We speak from the first minute and pick up the grammar along the way.
You don’t need to know your level in advance: we find it out in the demo lesson, or you can see it right away with a short online test, free.
Who this course is for
One-to-one lessons for adults, from the very beginning up to level B2. Most people come to us with one of these four things.
English is needed at work
Meetings in English, colleagues abroad, e-mails that take you twice as long as in Slovak. We build the lesson around your working world — vocabulary from your field included.
I understand, but I don’t speak
You can follow a film with subtitles, but in a conversation the sentence comes together slowly and in the end you would rather not say it. In a one-to-one lesson you are the one talking the whole time — and nobody is sitting there waiting for you to finish.
I learned it once, now there’s nothing left
School was a long time ago; two tenses and a few words about the family survived. We don’t start from zero — first we find what is still there, and then we add only the missing pieces.
I have a specific goal and a deadline
An interview, moving abroad, an exam, a presentation in a month. When the goal is clear, we build the lesson around it and don’t have to wait for a whole group to reach the topic.
If you are looking for something else
- Prefer a small group at a better price? Group courses for adults
- English for a whole team or company? Corporate English
- Is the student aged 13 to 18? Individual English for teenagers
How adults learn English with us
Three things we do differently from a language textbook.
Learning in context
Words from what you actually deal with
A complaint in an online shop, travelling, a meeting with colleagues from Ireland, a series without subtitles. The words stick because the topics are your own, so you remember them even without a list on paper.
Practice between lessons
Quest AI — our own app
We built our own app, Quest AI. You can practise grammar in it, go through dialogues from everyday situations — in a café, at the airport, at a job interview — or talk to our AI partners about anything you like. It is included in the course price and available even at midnight. Once a month we add a practical task on top: a short presentation, a post, an e-mail.
Role-play
First in the lesson, then for real
A call to a customer service line, a job interview, negotiating a price, ordering in a restaurant. We play the situation through until it sticks — so the first real time isn’t with someone waiting for your answer.
English opens the doors you have been walking past
- A job ad with the line “English required” stops being a job for somebody else.
- On holiday and at the airport you manage on your own, without a translator in your hand.
How a lesson goes
No surprises: we agree on the time, the length and the format in advance and stick to them.
-
When
In the morning before work, over the lunch break or in the evening. We set the time around your schedule — and when the schedule changes, we agree on a new one.
-
Where
Online via Google Meet from anywhere, or in person in Trnava at Andreja Kubinu 8. You pick the format when ordering. If WhatsApp, Messenger or Telegram works better for you, we can connect there too — you do not have to install anything for us.
-
How long
55 minutes. Not 60 — the teacher needs those five minutes between lessons to catch her breath and pour a glass of water.
-
How often
From once to three times a week. From two lessons up the month works out cheaper — you can see it in the price list below.
-
Feedback
As we go, we talk about what has moved forward and where it still gets stuck. Plus specific tips on what to look at between lessons — no homework that eats two evenings.
Who teaches the lessons
One teacher, the same one every lesson. You don’t have to explain where you left off each time.
Mgr. Júlia Ratynska
English · Slovak · Ukrainian · Russian · Spanish
When you get stuck somewhere, Júlia explains it in your own language and then you go back to English. In the first lessons she finds out what you need English for — meetings, travelling, an interview or series without subtitles. Everything else is built around that. Not even “I am agree” will surprise her: the correction comes in a way that doesn’t put you off the next sentence.
Quest AI — English between lessons as well
A lesson is once a week. Speaking can happen every day.
You turn on the microphone and say a sentence. Julka answers out loud, corrects you and is in no hurry — not even at half past ten in the evening, when that is the only free time in the whole day. In front of Englík there is no need to worry about slipping up — he is a guinea pig whose English is in exactly the same shape.
- Speaking out loud — you talk into the microphone and hear the answer right away
- A personal dictionary — a new word is saved with one tap and is still there a week later
- Role-play challenges — an interview at the bank, a complaint at a hotel, small talk with a colleague
- You install the app on your phone, and the login lasts three months
Access is included in the course price, with no extra fees.

How to start
Three steps. The first one is free and commits you to nothing.
Free demo lesson
One lesson online, no payment and no card. We find out what level you are at and what you need — and you find out whether this way of learning suits you. If it doesn’t, we part on good terms.
We agree on the time and the pace
After the lesson we talk about how many times a week it makes sense to study and when it fits into your week. We then pick a package in the price list to match.
The order and the first lesson
You choose the package and the month and pay by transfer via QR code or by card. We confirm the times by e-mail — or on WhatsApp, if writing there is quicker for you.
What our students say
We’ll admit it straight away: so far our Google reviews come mostly from parents. Their children are taught by the same teacher and by the same method — and below are three of the nine, exactly as they were written.
A great English school for kids and teenagers. The teachers are very kind and patient and create a friendly atmosphere. Lessons are clear and playful, and children learn naturally, without stress. I appreciate the individual approach and the small groups.

Thank you for tutoring Ninka all year long. She told me she wants to continue in September. I’m so glad she enjoys English with you — before that, she couldn’t even look at it. 🙏🤗

I never got the chance to thank you for your kind approach, patience and dedication with our kids — thank you once again. You are a truly lovely person. 🥰
Frequently asked questions
Six things people ask about most often.
Write to the teacher at least 24 hours in advance and we move the lesson with no fee. Meetings run over, business trips appear from one day to the next — we count on that.
A computer, tablet or phone with internet and a place where nobody disturbs you. Headphones help more than a camera. You don’t have to install or buy anything for the lesson — Google Meet opens in the browser.
Usually more of it survived than it seems — it is just buried, and without practice you can’t get to it. In the first lesson we find out what is still in there and add the missing pieces. We teach from the very beginning up to level B2, so there is no level you wouldn’t fit into.
Any time. We take new students all year round — there is no waiting for September or for the first of the month, and you choose the starting month when ordering.
The course is paid monthly in advance. After the order you get a QR code for a transfer, or you can pay through the GoPay gateway — by card, bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Prices are final, we are not VAT payers. Unused lessons move to the next month — and if you decide to stop, we return the money for the lessons you haven’t taken, any time. The details are in our Refund Policy.
One-to-one lessons make sense when you have a specific goal, an irregular schedule, or you don’t want to make mistakes in front of other people. If, on the contrary, you enjoy learning with others and are looking for a better price, there are group courses for adults.
The first step is yours, we take care of the rest
You can ease in with one free lesson, or go straight to picking a package and a month. Both ways lead to the same thing — a conversation in English that you don’t assemble in your head in advance.
Demo lesson
No payment, no card and no obligation to continue. After the lesson we tell you what level you are at and what would help you most — even if you end up deciding this isn’t for you.
