One-to-one lessons
Individual English for teenagers — online and in Trnava
One student, one teacher and a lesson built around whatever they are into right now. The talking starts in the first minute — about games and series, and about what is coming up in the next test.
You don’t need to know the level in advance — we find it out in the demo lesson. If you want to know right away, we have a short online test, free.
Who this course is for
One-to-one lessons for students aged 13 to 18, from complete beginners up to B2. Most of them come to us with one of these four things.
Understands everything, says nothing
Watches series without subtitles, but stays quiet in class — because the sentence has to be correct first and only then out loud. In a one-to-one lesson there is nobody to look silly in front of, so the talking happens. Mistakes and nonsense included.
The grade dropped and it is tense at home
Somewhere in year six one tense slipped past, and it has been piling up ever since. We can go back to exactly that spot and catch it up — without the whole class waiting.
An exam or the school-leaving exam is coming
The school-leaving exam, entrance exams, a certificate or an exchange. When the date and the goal are clear, we build the lesson around them and go by what is actually coming, not by the order of chapters in the textbook.
Treats English as a school subject
At home they use it every day in games, on Discord and on YouTube, and at school it suddenly turns into something else. We build on that: the same words, only now with the grammar that lets them write it down as well.
If you are looking for something else
- Prefer a small group at a better price? Group courses for teenagers
- A younger sibling, aged 6–12? Individual English for kids
- Mainly about schoolwork and grades? English tutoring
How teenagers learn English with us
Three things we do differently from school.
Learning in context
Vocabulary from what they actually enjoy
Games, series, music, sport, TikTok. Whatever they watch at home is what we use in the lesson: the words stick because it is a topic they have something to say about, and the conversation starts on its own. Grammar comes easier too when there is something to hang it on.
Practice between lessons
Quest AI — our own app
We built our own app, Quest AI. In it they can drill grammar, go through dialogues from everyday situations — in a shop, at the airport, at a job interview — or talk to our bots about anything at all. They will say things to a bot that they would never say in front of a person, and they can repeat the same sentence for the twentieth time. It is included in the course price and available at midnight too.
Role-play and challenges
Debate, role-play and the challenge of the month
Ordering a coffee, explaining the rules of a favourite game in English, defending an opinion in a short debate. Plus a challenge once a month — record a video, make a meme, get through a mini contest. That way English gets out of the lesson and into their life.
English opens the door to the internet they are on anyway
- Series, videos and tutorials in the original — no waiting for a dub and no subtitles half a sentence behind.
- In games and on Discord they manage on their own. That tends to be the moment English stops being a school subject.
How a lesson goes
No surprises: we agree on the time, the length and the format in advance and stick to them.
-
When
Morning, afternoon or evening — after school, after training, however the week works out. We set the time around the timetable, not around our price list.
-
Where
Online via Google Meet or MS Teams, or in person in Trnava at Andreja Kubinu 8. You pick the format when ordering. If WhatsApp, Messenger or Telegram works better at home, we will connect there — you do not have to install anything for us.
-
How long
55 minutes. Not 60 — the teacher needs those five minutes between lessons to catch her breath and pour a glass of water.
-
How often
From once to three times a week. From two lessons up the month works out cheaper — you can see it in the price list below.
-
Feedback for you
We write to parents about how it is going and what is being covered — without dissecting every mistake. And at home we would rather recommend ten minutes in Quest AI than an hour and a half of homework.
Who teaches the lessons
One teacher, the same one every lesson. Nobody has to start getting to know someone new each time.
Mgr. Júlia Ratynska
English · Slovak · Ukrainian · Russian · Spanish
If a teenager does not understand something in English, Júlia explains it in their own language. She talks to them the way she would to an adult — about music, about school and about whatever is annoying them. When something is not working, she makes no drama of it: she asks where exactly it got tangled, and they carry on together from there.
Quest AI — English between lessons as well
A lesson is once a week. Speaking can happen every day.
You turn on the microphone and say a sentence. Julka answers out loud, corrects you and is in no hurry. In front of Englík there is no need to worry about slipping up — he is a guinea pig whose English is in exactly the same shape.
- Speaking out loud — you talk into the microphone and hear the answer right away
- A personal dictionary — a new word is saved with one tap and is still there a week later
- Role-play challenges — an interview at the bank, a complaint at a hotel, small talk with a colleague
- You install the app on your phone, and the login lasts three months
Access is included in the course price, with no extra fees.

Choose the number of lessons a week and the month you want to start with. A lesson lasts 55 minutes, the price is recalculated right away, and “Order” takes you straight to payment.
How to start
Three steps. The first one is free and commits you to nothing.
Free demo lesson
One lesson online, no payment and no card. The teacher sees where the student stands, and the student sees whether it fits. If it doesn’t, we part on good terms.
We pick the time and the pace
After the lesson we talk about how many times a week it makes sense to study and what to aim at — the school-leaving exam, conversation, or catching up with school. We then pick a package in the price list to match.
The order and the first lesson
You choose the package and the month and pay by transfer via QR code or by card. We confirm the times by e-mail — or on WhatsApp: that is where we message most parents, and it tends to be faster.
What parents and students say
A great English school for kids and teenagers. The teachers are very kind and patient and create a friendly atmosphere. Lessons are clear and playful, and children learn naturally, without stress. I appreciate the individual approach and the small groups.

Great English tutoring. Our son really likes going there, a wonderful approach. We are very happy.
Hello, my son is very happy with the lessons with you. His English has got better, and his speaking of course too…

Frequently asked questions
Seven things people ask about most often.
Write to the teacher at least 24 hours in advance and we move the lesson with no fee. Tests, training sessions and the flu can’t be planned — we count on that.
A computer, tablet or phone with internet and a place where nobody disturbs them. Headphones help more than a camera. You don’t have to install or buy anything for the lesson — Google Meet opens in the browser.
The easiest way is in the demo lesson — the teacher recognises it from the conversation within a couple of minutes. If you want to know before that, we have a short online test, free: our AI agent marks it, explains the mistakes and suggests where to start.
Any time. We take new students all year round — there is no waiting for September or for the first of the month, and you choose the starting month when ordering.
The course is paid monthly in advance. After the order you get a QR code for a transfer, or you can pay through the GoPay gateway — by card, bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Prices are final, we are not VAT payers. Unused lessons move to the next month — and if you decide to stop, we return the money for the lessons you haven’t taken, any time. The details are in our Refund Policy.
Our own app, access to it is included in the course price. Inside there is grammar by topic, dialogues from everyday situations — in a shop, at the airport, at a job interview — and free conversation with our bots, who don’t mind hearing the same sentence for the tenth time.
It is an addition to the lesson with the teacher, not a replacement. There is nothing extra to pay for it.
One-to-one lessons make sense when the student needs their own pace, has a specific goal, or is shy about speaking in front of others. If company encourages them and you are looking for a better price, there are group courses for teenagers.
The first step is yours, we take care of the rest
You can ease in with one free lesson, or go straight to picking a package and a month. Both ways lead to the same thing — a teenager who says what they think in English and doesn’t stop to check whether it was grammatically perfect.
Demo lesson
No payment, no card and no obligation to continue. After the lesson the teacher tells you where the student stands and what would help — even if you end up deciding this isn’t for you.
